Meravia

Meravia
TBC

Homebrew setting for a 5e game, soon to be running. Two players already found (with another joining in January), two slots still open. There will be a session zero to start things off, so don't worry about having a fully fleshed out character just yet (though a good idea in mind would be a good start). One thing to note is I will allow some extra content, Unearthed Arcana and Homebrew, but not all of it, and just run things by me first.

Brief Intro:

The kingdom of Firnen was once a shining place of culture, now it is known as The Devastation - a wasteland created in the final act of a war one hundred years past. What towns remain on the edge of this land are overcrowded, underfed and assailed by the beasts and monsters that have taken up residence to the South.
This is where adventurers, scavangers and scholars test their mettle, discover what remains of the once prosperous land, or just try to earn as much coin as possible.
This is where you are headed.

Background:

You will be starting on the road to the Devastation, feeling its draw for one reason or another (be it gold, the plight of those living on the border towns, or seeking the knowledge to be found in ruins). Your character might be from any corner of the continent of Meravia (or even beyond), and their motivations of course will vary. Keep in mind however, this will be a slightly more heroic campaign rather than antihero/villainous. Tone wise, I will likely start off with a slightly more combat-based experience through the first few levels, slowly ramping up the more social and RP-based sides of things as the players progress and grow more comfortable with the system and each other, leading into some planned faction play and some hopefully fun bits and bobs.

Character Creation:

Once the slots are filled up, I will be contacting the two new players and adding them to a facebook group where we can determine what times and dates are suitable for people (I will say, right now I'm favouring Sundays as I am playing in campaigns on both Saturdays and Thursdays). Once we have a time/date, I'll book us a room and we can have a full session zero including character creation where I can give more detail on the setting, and maybe the start of play depending how much time we have. You will be starting at level one, and it would be good to bring a vague idea of a character you might want to play (or even several) but there's no need to have a full character sheet etc.

Other than that, if you have any questions, just drop me a PM.
