Netrunner Standard League 1: The Beginning

Netrunner Standard League 1: The Beginning
Weeks 5 until 9, whenever you like Discord and Jinteki

Hey, Netrunner's cool right? Well, what if I told you there was a fun and easy way to go from an alright Netrunner player to an alright Netrunner player who's played some more games? Well, there is, and it's called playing more games. And we're doing it in an organised fashion!! (Note: in signing up to this league, you must know how to play Netrunner. If you don't know how to play and are Intrigued, go to #netrunner in the main Discord!)

This is a Netrunner league run very slowly from weeks 5 until 9. At the start of each week, you'll be paired up with someone with which you will play one Corp and one Runner game. See, very casual. You'll then report these results to the TO (me, hello, I'm running a Netrunner thing again) who'll then tot up the scores over the five weeks and then a winner will be declared! If you like, you can think of it as a really slow tournament, except you can do the rounds whenever you want during the week and you can change your decks between rounds. So basically, not much like a tournament.

Here are the nitty-gritty rules:

  • You'll be assigned an opponent at the start of each week. You should fight that opponent via Netrunner, playing two games - one Corp, one Runner. You should both agree before said games that they are part of the league - no making them into league games afterwards.
  • Both players should report the results to me, in whatever communication facility you like that isn't carrier pigeon. (Please just ping me on Discord.)
  • Your decks should be Standard legal as of the start of this league. This may change if a new banlist is released during the league.
  • You may change your deck at any time during the league, except during games. (When you change a deck, it should remain Standard legal.) Come on, I'm not that stupid.

You must sign up to this by midday on the 2nd November, as that's after my supervisor meeting and when I will publish the first pairings. Woo, spooky. (Note that I'll make the first pairings as fair as possible based on perceived power levels.)

The winner of this league will get a mystery prize!!! It's a mystery because I don't know what it is, and also delivering things is hard right now but it can be worked out.

Anyway, this should be a fun way to try out some decks, improve them and play games with a variety of people!
