Startup punk!

You've broken your first server. What, you want a medal or something? You want a T-Shirt saying "I visited NBN's memory hole and only threw up once?" Being a runner isn't just a one and done job; you don't just get your name whispered in the alleyways of New Angeles just because your first big job was semi-successful. The real skill is not in getting in. It's in staying in. It's making the place your own; painting the walls your favourite colour; being able to come and go as you please. So, do you want to take the next step?

Android: Netrunner is an asymmetric collectible card game for 2 players. One player plays the corporation, who seeks to protect and advance their nefarious agendas, while the other player plays the runner, who looks to hack into the corporation's servers and steal those secrets before the corp can see them to fruition. Recently, the fine folks at NISEI (the volunteer organisation that keeps the game alive) made a brand, shiny new format called Startup. It is a format that uses System Gateway, System Update 2021, and the Ashes cycle. It's a bigger card pool than just a single set but it's still much reduced from the larger standard card pool, so it’s excellent for if you’re looking for plenty of fun tools to build decks with but find standard rather intimidating.

We'll be running a league in this Startup format. How this goes is as follows: Each week you'll be given a player that you'll be paired against. All you have to do is organise between you a time to play two games (one corp and one runner) during the week, and then play those games. Oh wow, that's so simple. Pairings will go live on Sunday evening, and you’ll have until 6pm on the following Sunday to play your games. We’ll do 4 weeks of such games, and at the end of it all we’ll crown a winner! (EDIT: to clarify, you can change your deck between weeks, whether it's just minor tinkering or totally playing a new ID) If you don’t know how to play Android: Netrunner, always feel free to come along on Thursday and ask for a game, or simply drop a message in #netrunner on the Discord.
