Innistrad: Midnight Hunt Post-Prerelease

Innistrad: Midnight Hunt Post-Prerelease
1pm-5pm Friday 1st October Online

This is an ONLINE event. We'll be operating under the assumption that you at minimum know how to play Magic: The Gathering for this event. If you'd like to learn, please show up to our in person Collectible Card Games event on Thursday or our online Collectible Card Games event on Sunday on the Welcome Week Timetable.

Innistrad: Midnight Hunt is the newest set of cards for the Collectible Card Game (CCG) Magic: The Gathering. We are celebrating in the only way that we know how: a prerelease event that's too late to actually be a prerelease event. What this means is that you'll be opening 6 packs of Innistrad: Midnight Hunt, building a deck out of the cards you open, then playing 3 best-of-3 rounds, after which we'll see who did the best! There'll be no prizes at this event, just pride and the satisfaction of winning.

There are a couple of things that you will need to do before joining:

  1. First, you'll need to join our Discord server at https://discord.gg/xdDZnYQ which will allow you to talk to us and makes it a lot easier for us to organise games.

  2. Then, you'll want a way to open packs. The obvious way to do this is by buying a prerelease kit from your friendly local game store. If you don't have a friendly local game store, you can order them from The Games Den, who are based in Leamington Spa, here: https://thegamesden.co.uk/magic-the-gathering-innistrad-midnight-hunt-prerelease-pack/. However, for participation in this event, this is absolutely not necessary. You can digitally generate packs for free at http://mtgen.net/. This won't give you any physical cards like buying a prerelease kit would, but it's all you need for this event.

  3. Finally, you'll want to install Cockatrice from https://cockatrice.github.io/. This is what we'll be using to actually play games. It's a little tricky to use, but we'll have people on hand to ensure you are set up and know how to use it before you play game 1.

We expect everyone attending our events to follow our code of conduct, which can be found here: https://www.warwicktabletop.co.uk/page/codeofconduct/
