Dungeons and Dragons 5e

Strange goings on are afoot in the city of Phlan, and it’s up to you and your fellow adventurers to uncover them in this series of mini adventures. Explore different areas of the city, learn what you can from it’s people, and fight to foil villains and save your lives.

Dungeons and Dragons 5e is a game of high fantasy adventure, where you play as a group of friends or allies looking to get by, get rich, help others, or achieve personal goals by taking on a variety of quests and challenges. You all have skills, more so than most people in the world, but when you try to do something risky a roll of a d20 (a twenty sided dice) is used to help determine the outcome. Your characters will also have features, magic, and abilities that you can use as powerful tools to interact with and influence the world around you.

This game is designed for new players, with characters at level 1, but experienced players are also welcome. Pregenerated characters are provided (you can see them pinned in #rpgs on Discord) though players are welcome to make their own (see below). Feel free to message me on Discord (@Hello) if there is something you want to ask.
The game should run for at least 3 hours, but is very easy to shorten, lengthen, or drop in or out of.

The rules for creating your own character are as follows:
Any officially published material is allowed, with the exception of the Aarakocra, Yuan-Ti Pureblood, Centaur, and Satyr races.
If you want to use Unearthed Arcana or homebrew material, please run it past me first. The exception to this is Unearthed Arcana: The Ranger, Revised, which you should feel free to use.
For generating ability scores, use the point buy system on page 13 of the Players Handbook.
For starting equipment, use the options presented for your class in the Players Handbook.
For backstory (if you want to come up with one), a few lines to a paragraph is likely best. It isn’t likely that I’ll be able to work much from it into the game, so use it as a way to inform you about how to describe and roleplay your character. The setting is the Forgotten Realms, a medieval / renaissance mid-to-high magic world, which has space for most character concepts, and don’t feel you need to learn anything about it if you don’t want to.
