So a couple of months ago we as a soc got a rather small donation of new RPGs (full sarcasm, actually a large donation). I, inquisitive as ever, go browsing through the mostly ancient tomes of the black and white 80s and 90s RPGs. But lo! What is this? A book with colour?
Overlight, whose cover and pages are all shades of the rainbow, caught my eye and so I decided I wanted to give it a shot and make it queer. So that's what I'll be running for Tabletop Radio. Overlight describes itself as "Kaleidoscopic Fantasy" a genre of fantasy that (I'm pretty sure) has been made up by the writers of Overlight to describe the game. Overlight defines it as "Bright colours, a riotous explosion of life, and fantastic beasts rooted more in the natural world than in nightmarish visions". Googling Roger Dean will give you a pretty good idea of what to expect.
So what should you expect from this little one-shot? Well first, it's going to be livestreamed on Twitch as part of our end of year charity event, so you should be comfortable with the idea of being in front of a camera, with the VODs being preserved on our YouTube channel. Second, you should know that I'm a GM who loves the epic and gripping story and character-focused games. Next, you'll need to also be okay with a session zero sometime during week 9. And finally, you need to be willing and excited to incite gender envy (and maybe the other gender sins) in both yourself and the audience, you need slay (not in the usual context for fantasy), and represent the folks we're working to raise money for. (NB you don't need to be queer to participate, allies are welcome too!)
I'll be looking for up to four players who like the sounds of the above. I currently don't have much planned for the game itself so more info will come in time, likely via the secret tabletop radio discord.
