Theatre, performance, actors - these things are as ancient as modern civilisation itself. Everybody likes a beautiful story, yet every narrative is merely a façade that hides something deeper, something darker, something stronger. Can a narrative ever be true to life? It is so hard to tell truth from lies when everybody is telling a different story.
Vampire: The Masquerade is a role-playing game set in the World of Darkness—an urban fantasy setting about surviving as a vampire in a darker mirror of a modern city. In this oneshot, we will be the power of hate and little influences that push people towards dark places. The characters will be solving disappearance of Lissa, a young actress who played Ophelia at the Royal Theatre of Duke Monroe. Discover her fate, and decide: who is really to blame for her death?
The oneshot is made with complete beginners in mind, so it is suitable for all levels of RPG experiences. It is a bit grim, and I would define the genre as a slow-burn investigation with horror elements. Trigger warnings include: mentions of torture, mentions of mental illness, scars, blood, murder, violence, eating disorders, unrealistic beauty standards, mentions of racism.
The oneshot uses pre-made characters, so you don't have to worry about character creation.
