TERM 2 WEEK 19 NEWSLETTER

Hello,
It’s time for our tabletop weekend, but don’t let that distract you for everything else that’s going on as we continue to deliver the best events around on a weekly basis.

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING (AGM)
Week 8
With the AGM taking place on Wednesday the 28th of February and the SU policy requiring at least 2 weeks priory membership to vote or run; we have a hard deadline of the 14th. If you are considering running, now is the time to get serious about it. Make sure to seek out previous exec to get a feel for what the role requires as well as what you would bring to your role.

TABLETOP WEEKEND
10:00 Saturday the 10th to 22:00 Sunday the 11th, B2.02 Science Concourse
Tabletop weekend is finally here after an excruciating 2 month wait. This weekend our legendary 36-hour event returns for you to gorge yourself on as many boardgames as possible. With the event running nonstop you really can turn up whenever you’re free, so I don’t what to hear any excuses. I’m sure you will be able to find some time, even if it’s in to the wee hours of Sunday morning.

WARGAMING
Monday 17:00 to 22:00, B2.01 Science Concourse
We start of the week with the roar of gun fire and furious charges across distant battlefields where only the smartest (or luckiest) generals will survive. So whether you fancy a game of 40K, Age of Sigmar, Warmahoardes, Dropzone commander, X-wing, or even introduce us all to a new games system there’s plenty going on. As always, we will have society armies available and will be more than happy to teach the rules so you have no excuse for not showing up.

MAGIC: THE GATHERING
Tuesday 18:00 to 22:00, B2.01 Science Concourse
Rivals of Ixalan continues and with it the chance to draft some sneaky merfolk, ruthless pirates, brutal dinosaurs, and maybe even a good deck. If you do happen to get that elusive good deck then don’t forget to hold on to your prize packs as each one supplied to a future draft will decrease entry by £2. As always 19:00 start and £8 buy in.

BOARDGAMES
Wednesday 14:00 to 22:00, S0.10 Social Sciences
Can’t wait until Saturday? Then fear not as our weekly boardgames event will be running as normal. What better warm up for a tabletop weekend marathon than with an 8-hour appetizer. In more unfortunate news I have taken it upon myself to ban our president Nigel from ever being the forensic scientist in Deception again, as he always seems to be on the murderer’s side.

CASUAL CARD GAMES
Thursday 16:00 to 22:00, B2.04/5 Science Concourse
Bring your Magic, Netrunner, and Yu-Gi-Oh decks, as CCGs continues to be the best place to get in that valuable play testing. Or you could just play your favourite game in a friendly relaxing environment, it’s up to you.

TABLETOP ROLEPLAYING GAMES
Saturday 12:00 to 22:00, Meeting in the Social Sciences Café
With all the RPGs that are going on I’m sure everyone has managed to find a campaign or two by now (and hopefully don’t overburden themselves with too many!). And remember to keep a constant eye on our event page as you never know what is going to pop up.

LIVE ACTION ROLEPLAYING
Sunday 12:00 to 18:00, OC0.05 Oculus Building
Puzzles galore on Sunday as our party had to solve all sorts, from puzzle doors to riddles and some coded messages. All of which lead them to a mysterious necklace which may or may not cause you to slit your own throat. What is clear though is that it has something to do with the Master, so you better be there on Sunday to find out what happens next.

WEEKLY NEWS
As many of you are aware, Wednesday’s boardgames was shifted to the physics common room for the purposes of science. Although this room proved to be excellent with its own kitchen area. There were also some Sheriff of Nottingham high scores obtained (thanks Henry!).
