TERM 2 WEEK 24 NEWSLETTER

Hello,
After a mammoth weekend we still have a whole week of events including a special murder mystery before we stop for Easter (we don’t really stop as boardgames and wargames will run throughout).

MURDER MYSTERY
Friday the 16th 18:00 to 22:00, S0.10 Social Sciences Building
The Murder Mystery has risen from the dead (hears hoping the unfortunate victim doesn’t though) and will be taking place this Friday. If this looks interesting but you don’t what the stress of being a suspect to the heinous crime then you can turn up as catering and still take part in the investigation.

WARGAMES
Monday 17:00 to 22:00, B2.01 Science Concourse
The crusade to bring the word of the Lawgiver continues and maybe this week I can learn how not to get Severius killed like usual. So whether you are a faithful follower of Menoth or a blasphemous heretic make sure and come along on Monday for some epic battles.

MAGIC: THE GATHERING
Tuesday 18:00 to 22:00, B2.01 Science Concourse
We will be drafting Rivals of Ixalan again this Tuesday. If you do happen to give in to that Moment of Craving then make sure and get there for 18:30 to register. As always draft is £8 with a reduction of £2 for every pack you supply yourself.

BOARDGAMES
Wednesday 14:00 to 22:00, B2.02 Science Concourse
Apparently if a game has submarines in it, then our new comms officer Finnbar will buy it. As we tried our luck last Wednesday to get the sunken treasure back before we ran out of oxygen in a version of underwater snakes and ladders (at least it’s better than BSG). If you are not burnt out from the 44 hours of boardgames last week then be sure to head along.

CASUAL CARD GAMES
Thursday 16:00 to 22:00, B2.04/5 Science Concourse
With all the talk of great commander game stories going on in the Facebook group (make sure a join if you haven’t already) it seems like it’s time to create some more. And the only way to do that is to come along to casual card games on Thursday to get your commander fix.

TABLETOP ROLEPLAYING GAMES
Saturday 12:00 to 22:00, Meeting in the Social Sciences Café
Welcome, players, sit yourself down
And meet the best dungeon master in town
As for the rest, all of 'em crooks:
Fixin their dice and relying on books
Seldom do you see
Honest DM’s like me
A DM of good intent
Who's content to be
Dungeon Master of the house, doling out the charm
Ready with a story that’s an epic yarn
Makes an easy encounter, gives a little EXP
Players appreciate how generous I can be
Glad to do your character a favour
Doesn't cost me to be nice
But nothing gets you nothing
Everything is relying on the dice!
RPGs continue as normal, make sure to contact your DM to find out what’s happening over the Easter holidays and don’t for get to post your games on the event page for the coming term.

LIVE ACTION ROLEPLAYING
Finished until Term 3
In an attempt to steal The Master’s hidden artefact, the party came up with a cunning 7 step plan (make that 14 steps if you account for things like getting distracted by pet wolfs). These events may or may not have contributed to the sudden darkening and glowing of the mists in Nivalas. Please note that LARP has finished for term 2 and will continue in term 3.

WEEKLY NEWS
On Friday we had our end of term quiz where the teams were tested on their knowledge of space phenomena with “The curse of Tim” taking the prize. Before this we even had a warm up quiz which was won by “” steamed hams” but it’s a quiz team name”.
This then led us in to the end of term tabletop weekend which included may highlights and one miserable 8 hour game of Warmachine. The weekend was conclude with the end of term LARP.
