📅 Exec Meeting Announcement and Minutes
We're having an in person exec meeting in B2.04/5 on Tuesday 9th November, 4-5pm, discussing our Equalitea board games collaboration with Pride and finishing up Tabletop Radio stretch goals. We also have Minutes from the last exec meeting, which I just reread because I wasn't there to give a summary. TL;DR Quiz discussion, working out how to deal with old BGs and books from the society's far past, merch organising.
🎲 Board Games Loans!
We're offering board game loans again. If you have society membership, you can request to borrow games for a week. Full terms and conditions are at the link, but a brief summary:
- You need membership to borrow games.
- Loans are for up to a week, starting on Wednesdays.
- If you break it, you replace it.
- We reserve the right to refuse loans.

- Monday 5-10pm: In Person Wargames, B2.01
- Tuesday 6-10pm: In Person Draft - B2.01 - Cube - Free! (£2 donation appreciated but optional) - you must sign up here to take part.
- Wednesday 2-10pm: In Person Board Games - B2.01
- Thursday 5-10pm: In Person CCGs - B2.01
- Sunday 12-5pm: LARP - B2.02

💭 What happened last week? 💭
The prophecy of Brant (or the Brophecy, if you will) was fufilled, as James resorted to forbidden wet bird stacking techniques. It doesn't show amazingly in the picture, but he tucked 72 birds under there (each worth a point.) By the endgame, every time he chose to take the draw cards action, he could, in order:
- Draw 3 cards.
- Draw 2 cards, and have to discard one at the end of turn, a clause which won't matter because the next actions are...
- Tuck a card from his hand under the second bird and draw a new card.
- Tuck a card from his hand under each of his birds in the Wetlands
- Tuck a card from his hand under the last bird and lay an egg on it.
If you've been keeping track, that means every turn by the endgame he could just slap the bird printer and get 6 shiny fresh points.
MH2 draft! For which I have actual results, for once in a newsletter! Congrats to Ross for moderning all two of the horizons!
Alex channeled forbidden powers of preparation and planning, to finally (after two years!) organise a Blood Bowl League, starting this coming week! After my Sleepaway game last week, could this be the start of a streak of exec finally getting around to stuff they meant to organise but can only now get round to? Ehh, maybe. Anyway, good luck to everyone in the league, and may the team most inclined to cartoonishly overkill violence win.
Extra Bonus End Bit
Upon the makeshift altar of concrete and furniture, with a terror close to tenderness, you place down a d4. The void within coalesces and shifts from the crimson of an alien sky to a murky ocean green. For a moment you could swear you see something move within. There is the sound of something lashing out, and then the shadows in the building seem to recoil, like a hand from a hot stove. The air hisses in pain. What wards were here have been reshaped to weapons, to blades against the thing they cage. A god contained not by chains or kindness, not by obligation or promise, but by force.
In full retreat, and with most of the dice you need in hand, you begin the long, hazardarous journey towards the science concourse. While slipping through the maze of tunnels and hidden pathways between the Arts Centre and Senate House, however, a strange sight meets your eyes. Across from you is a table, covered in handmade terrain. You might almost be able to dismiss this as merely an escaped art project, but atop it are very definitely a handful of miniatures. This must be a holdout of the wargamers, unseen since Anakin's consolidation of power and spoken of now only in whispers. Most believed them dead, executed for an attempted coup. Here, though is undeniable proof of survivors. Before you can work out what to do with this information, you see a figure moving in the shadows, wearing a hoodie of what you could swear was exec purple. They don't seem to have noticed you yet.
