John (Former Comms Officer): Once upon a time, a foolish [the card "Foolish" is put down] Comms Officer decided that this week's newsletter would be written using the board game Once Upon a Time, and then promptly didn't get to become first player and has now lost custody of the newsletter. Whoops. To try and amend this, they set out on a quest to find the Timforce, a great and powerful item that lets its user play any game they want, hoping to use it as a trade to gain the newsletter back. But to find this long-lost ["Long-Lost" is put down] item th-

What happened this week?
We ran another Postgrad Boardgames session in the duck! It was good, people turned up. Unfortunately we don't have any photos of the event but that's obviously because everyone that turned up was a vampire and not because we forgot to take any.
Speaking of vampires, I ran my Big Dracula one-shot last week! The party explored a haunted house while making great reality TV and only half of them died - one of them while flirting with Dracula (you might have questions, but I have more) and another in a heroic, selfless attack. Dread is quite a mean system it turns out! The biggest thanks go to my players who were willing to try out something a bit different from your run-of-the-mill RPG and created some of the most interesting characters I've seen for a long time.
Callum ran the D&D one-shot Assault on Gumdrop Mountain, where the party discovered that centipedes are just evil. There was an old man possessed by a centipede, then the party was ambushed by eight more centipedes and nearly died. They got to a nearby town despite the centipedes and headed up the mountain, which had dogs made of pretzels instead. It turns out that having 5 INT ends up making you chaotic questionable as despite the fact all the desserts are hallucinations, our treasurer Nathan ate so much he nearly suffocated. Also people prayed to a cake (me irl). All in all, a successful adventure!
Also in today's "who won draft corner" Alex (not to be confused with Aleksa, our Draft Rep) won last week's draft! I don't know what deck was played, but I expect it was a good one given the whole winning the draft thing.
Much love <3
