🌍 Get your Megagame tickets whilst stocks last!!
Tickets will be available until either we run out of places or Friday 17th at midnight (so all players have a chance to read through their briefings).
As a reminder you can get tickets from our SU ticket sales page for a paltry £3 as a member, and a still quite paltry £4 if you aren’t.
Once you've bought your ticket, please join the specific Discord server so you can be contacted and also so you can choose a role in the game. There are still 9 roles left for various human factions and 1 role left for aliens, with roles being first come, first served.
🔁🧝 RPG Room changes for Week 7 onwards
So, umm… the people in charge of the RPGs faction told me to drop off this message:
“Ahem…To all Saturday DMs that have booked their rooms with the society, we reach out to you to inform you of troubling developments in the horizon! The rooms we had booked for you for weeks 7 and 8 (4th and 11th of June) are no longer available. To remedy this, if you were running a session those days, please contact us so we may room another book on another day.
To all DMs that have booked rooms on Saturday or Sunday: Your previously booked rooms will cease to be available after week 6 (non inclusive). We have found substitutes for all Sunday rooms for the rest of term, and all Saturday rooms for weeks 9 and 10, simply contact Ben (Nasenbaer23#8574) or Alonso (Alonyeyo#2887) for information regarding your new room.”

📡🏳️🌈 Tabletop Radio - Teasers and Call for participants
Tabletop Radio is sneaking up with what some are calling alarming haste and others are terming just “the normal passage of linear time” (those people are wrong).
With that in mind I’m here to give you the rundown of some of the segments to get you excited and also so you can sign up to any that interest you! (Note that some of the segments already have players and thus there is no link to sign up to them).
📡🏳️🌈 THURSDAY, JUNE 30TH
Jackbox - This event will require quite a few players, so, if you're interested, feel free to sign up to the event, or shoot Scarlett (@ORCH1D
) a message!
Hello reader, I wanna play a game. Which game? Unclear at this point in time, but what I do know is that it'll be from one of the Jackbox party packs! For those of you who don't know, Jackbox games are party games which are hosted on a machine and then people can use their mobile devices to join in. They can range from getting prompts to write jokes to drawing pictures on your tiny phone screen and having people try to guess what the hell you were drawing in the first place.
Tabletop Gameshow - Sign up to be part of the Wargames team, or Sign up to be part of the Non-Wargames team
This year we will have our first ever “Tabletop Gameshow” live! This will feature two teams competing in a variety of challenges, with one team representing the Wargames faction of the society, trying assert dominance to further the Wargames Coup and the other team playing to prevent that. Ed is running this segment and there will be two teams of three players - here are the sign ups for each.
Overlight Oneshot - Sign up to the Overlight RPG here!
Hello there! It me. Anakin. This year for Tabletop Radio I've decided it definitely won't be a bad idea to run a livestreamed RPG. So I picked the gayest looking book off our society's shelves and will get to work on making a game to remember! I'm looking for up to four players with an intent to inflict their queerness on others unapologetically for Overlight, a game of Kaleidoscopic Fantasy.
Mini Painting Stream
In previous years, we have always devoted a slot to discovering the joy of painting. While, this year, we do not have Bob Ross with us, we do have something that we didn't in previous years: access to the third dimension and little plastic toys. While there is no event signups or direct audience involvement in this event, participation will still be widely encouraged, wherever you are. Whether it's creating art yourself, or just hanging out in chat, Scarlett and her friends would love to be joined by you for this nice, chill stream.
Mao - Sign up to Mao!
Hey Tabletop, Lewis here! Do you like Uno, but find the rules a little... restrictive? Annoyed that you can't bend the rules when it would be just a touch inconvenient for the other players? Well, Mao might just be for you! In this year's Tabletop Radio, I'm running a 6-person game of Mao, a game where the rules are invented by the players, while they're playing!
Karaoke TableTED Talks
Oh hi, it's me, Lils! I'm organising a very chaotic segment which can be summed up as, "What if TED talks but the presenter has never seen the slides and also maybe doesn't know anything about the topic?" (i.e. a great improvement upon most actual TED talks). So far I have been threatened with a presentation about the concept of MathsTM so please send me positive vibes (that’s a maths-adjacent joke right? Numbers can be positive? Surely they can’t all be sad??).
📡🏳️🌈 FRIDAY, JULY 1ST
Wargames
For this Stream a war’s brewing, but luckily not one that’s too complex. Representing our Wargs faction you’ll be able to watch a live game of 40K featuring the Society’s bespoke Open Playsets. Though our player count is already met, I (Reylynn) highly encourage tuning in if you have a Wargs interest, be it a long lasting love or a fascination burgeoning anew.
Tabletopoly (keep an eye out for an signup event coming soon)
Do you like Monopoly? Do you like Tabletop? If the answer to either of these questions is ‘sorta’ then maybe you’d like Tabletopoly. It’s like Monopoly but Tabletop themed and there’s also some added wackiness like new cards. We still need a player so keep an eye out for an event if you want to play in this prestigious game.
City of Mist Oneshot
Hello! Ben here! I’m running “Be Gay, Do Crimes” a comedic City Of Mist one-shot where a trio of thieves set out on a mission to heist a legendary artefact from the personal vault of billionaire Corbin Payne.
Chess 3000: The Next Generation Deluxe - Matthew is running this segment and is looking for 4 players - Sign up to Chess here!
Chess is, as we all know, a highly outdated game. And like all games, the best way to improve it is to add several more rules without thinking about it too hard. Throughout this year's tabletop radio stream, viewers will be able to donate in order to add new rules to the game, and then in this segment we will put those rules to the test.
🧠❓ The Quiz
Much more on the Quiz to come but this is already an absolutely packed newsletter so this is more of an initial heads up that the Quiz will be happening! It will be exquizite! Get hyped!

💭 What happened last week? 💭
I personally don't think that any words are necessary to accompany this picture of our benevolent overlord mascot, Strawberry Jam, but in case you skipped the image for some confusing reason, I crocheted the Jam a bow tie accessory. #positiveprocrastination
Thank you to Matthew for a new segment - This week in LARP: half of the party decided on a "no mercy" tactic (much to the dismay of the other half), leading to the deaths of many evil priests (justified), several imps (had it coming), a minotaur (impressive), and at last the King Beyond the Desert (twice). Also, there seems to be a new godlike entity on the scene that may have been controlling everything, and may now destroy the world...
And to Ben for adding some rich and even more concerning details - "Don’t forget the talking painting they set on fire! And as the person who was playing a number of said imps, priests and the talking painting, I think I spent approximately equal amounts of time curled up in a ball being "dead" and also being alive."
Extra Bonus End Bit
Oops! It seems you miscalculated just how long it would take the party to resolve the conflicts presented by last week's foes. Luckily you, as the ever-prepared GM, well-used to the party's antics by now, have a second wave of challengers to chuck at the players, just as they are getting a little too comfortable on their laurels and trying to gain free favours from the townsfolk after an overly easy success. I bet they weren't expecting this:
- The Abmboavalent/Adde(r)lay - this snake is large and both a powerful constrictor and has a deadly toxin. Few details beyond that have been agreed upon as its venom invokes a very specific kind of paralysis: decision paralysis. If bitten you are perfectly free to move, you're just gonna struggle to pick a direction, and a speed, and whether or not to call for help.
- The sun - yes, as in the celestial body. Sometimes it's go big or go be consumed by a raging sphere of plasma, y'know how it is.
- Un-deadlines - these are beings that exist on only a single plane, resurrected by some sineister necromathcer. They creep up on you all at once and before you realise it you are consumed and it's simply too late.
- Pixiels - these tiny fiends fester in software and are the menace of all tech people(TM). They delight in shifting pixels to locations they were not at all meant to be in and causing general electrichaos. Can only be fought and thwarted by entering the techno-dimension (you as a GM get to decide if that’s a wondrous new plane full of pulsing currents and mysterious jargon or if it’s just a particularly poorly named disco).
(Thanks for bearing with on the d4 tables the past couple weeks, we should hopefully be back to d6s next week!)
Wash your hands, stay safe, and come play some games with us 💛
Lils (they/he, Communications and Operations, essays exist to be speedrun, you can't change my mind)
