It wouldn't be the final newsletter from me without posting it on a Tuesday... WHOOPSIES! Anyway, not many updates this week, but just a massive thank you for a year of fun filled gaming!

π² Extravaganza Successes!
The 2024 Tabletop Extravaganza was a massive success and that wouldn't have happened without you lovely people. We saw many good games play out, an incredible quiz, and a fantastic LARP session amongst many other things. Thank you everyone who stopped by, even if it was brief. We really appreciated you being there and hope you had a good time! You can check out the highlights below for a very detailed summary of all the good stuff that went down.
π£ Stay in Touch!
With not much else to announce at the end of this term and with this final newsletter of the year, all we can really say is stay in touch! We have a fabulous community on discord who will be playing games and chatting all through the summer that we welcome you to jump in on, and I will continue to post sporadically on the Instagram and Facebook with any updates to the society over the break, as well as announcements about our early term events and welcome week. Make sure you've joined the discord and are following us on socials to get the most up to date information during the break!

π What happened last week? π
Last Week in RPGS!
- Lumina Falls - Finding themselves in the mines in town, apparently a second base of operations for Luminate, the group were held captive, discovering the company's plan to drain their energy. They tried to escape through a number of ways to no avail, with only some very convincing words from Ewan to his mother allowing them the briefest moment to escape. Upon escaping, celestial forces known as the watchers came into conversation with the group, and the 'evil' watcher, began explaining their plans to control the story of Lumina, this world and everything in it. The group could feel the world falling under the watcher's control, but together they were able to use and give up their power to hold them off, leaving the 'neutral' watcher to observe the natural world for now. And so, the story of Lumina slowed. Relaxed. It certainly isn't over, but for now, Casey Taylor, Cassidy Moore, Ewan Turner, Ashley Sinclaire and Ashton Sinclaire get a little bit of peace.
- Heroes of Ellyne - Finishing off the combat against bandits who had raided the city, the bard that the group had met revealed that he was being hunted and was in need of bodyguards. The group were hired to become these bodyguards, and began the trek south to find this bard's mentor. In doing so they found themselves in a town that they couldn't seem too leave or escape. In the middle, a dreamcatcher that transported them to another plane. A plane with a dragon. A mythical create that in this world are said to simply be legend...
- Extravaganza Chaos - Two orcs wake up after a rough night of drinking to a mysteriously forever asleep orc pope. After many confrontations with the gnomes (who are on a steamboat with them) and essentially a rugby match of βmud ballβ, the ripping of the orc popes hat and a fabulous prayer to the orc god, one of the PCs is crowned βPoβ and the other βpeβ to resolve the argument of who is next in line for popedom!!
Last Week in LARP! Flob was finally killed! Brought to it's wormy knees by the efforts of Aurelian, Ilya and (his superfluousness, etc, etc) Barry Fletcher.
First the party made a trek through the Kitaland country to meet with a Lupan courier to gather the remains of Flob, where they encountered (shockingly competent) Bandits, who wanted to steal Baz' (not cursed) sword, then the tourist imps, and also had a run-in with some cats. Being a party of 2/3rds mages, this went well.
After, they made their way to a clearing to reassemble and kill Flob. it was a hard-fought battle, but our party emerged victorious! Aurelian had slain the worm (though Baz dealt the killing blow.)
Mood was high for Aurelian, until he was muted and killed by Ilya for dabbling in life magic and exposing his existence to half of Lupanum. He was turned into gold just before his death to prevent him slowly piecing himself back together.
Last Week in Extravaganza! In a game of Sherlock Holmes: The Thames Murders: After a whole weekend, 25 leads followed, and an insane series of notes with "Moriarty" circled in red, the remaining Baker Street Irregulars finally solved the Thames Murders. For a grand total of 20 points.
In the quiz: Team Jammers and Team Meshkoff faced off in 5 rounds of trivia from Disney Classics, to Tranformers, Google Translate, to some terribly drawn art (thank you very much Matthew). In the end, team Meshkoff came out victorious with 31 points. It was a very chaotic quiz with good fun had by all!
In the Warhammer Tournament: Patrick came out on top for the tournament with his army of T'au having won all 3 games! Liam's Blood Angels and Oscars Chaos Space Marines fought well to emerge 2nd and 3rd with James' Tyranids somehow placing 4th despite terrible casualties in every game. All players performed well and I (James) hope everyone enjoyed themselves.
Extra Bonus End Bit
For the last time this term, and this year, the answer to last weeks Feldspar Buttons Firebreath III's Funky Beloved Fun (the obnoxiously named minigame) was of course the Call of Cthulhu Keeper's Rulebook! Well done to those of you in the discord who got it!
There's no quiz question this week as we head into the summer, so instead, take a massive thank you from Feldspar and I for welcoming us onto the exec and into these roles for this term and we can't wait to do it all again next year! If you have any suggestions, notes, comments on the newsletter or just anything else you want to chat about, please don't be afraid to reach out on discord! I look forward to speaking to you all online and seeing you again bright eyed and bushy tailed next year!
Enjoy Matthew's very very cursed drawing of Feldspar!
Hydrate, don't diedrate, have a good week, and I'll see you next time! π
