🃏BGS ASSISTANT REP CALL!
We are looking to expand our exec team with a Boardgames Assistant Rep! This role would entail helping V run our weekly boardgame sessions on a Wednesday, assisting with any extra boardgame events and helping managing our inventory. This is a brilliant way to get into exec and see what running the society is all about. If you’re interested, please contact Boardgames Rep V via the discord to have a chat about the role in a bit more detail!
💜A FUNDRAISER AMONG US!
One of our fabulous members, Josh, is fundraising this month for Teenage Cancer Trust! Take a look at what he has to say: 'Hello Tabletoppers! During this month, I'm pushing myself to do 3000 pushups to raise awareness and money for Teenage Cancer Trust, a charity that supports people and families of those our age and younger that are suffering with cancer. Any donations or sharing around with friends, would be greatly appreciated!' Find the link to his instagram and the fundraiser here.

💭 What happened last week? 💭
Last Week in LARP!!! The Halloween Episode! Our party was employed to search for some missing King's Reeves, who were in the tundra hunting for a long-stranded ship, frozen in the icy waters. They trekked through the harsh cold, the snow and cruel spirits sapping their strength as they searched. They met the boar clan, a small band of hunter who made their home in this deathly environment, as well as encountering the animals and ghosts and cultists of this wilderness. On their way to the ship, they found one of their missing Reeves. Or did they. The cold had taken his mind and warped his body into a creature that sought only warmth, and would tear it from another person if it needed to. When they made it to the ship, they spoke with the ghost of the deceased Reeves captain, and found out why they had been sent to the ship - hunting for a sword in the name of Archbaron Fitzsabre. The party had to fight their way out of the hoard of ghouls that inhabited the desolate ship, so they could deliver the news to House Fitzsabre of the fate of those Reeves they sent out to die.
Last Week in Game Jam!!!
It was an absolute joy to make some games with Game Design Soc over this past weekend! We had some incredible games made and our winners are as follows!
- Most enjoyable - Toil & Trouble (Josh, Sarah, Alice)
- Most innovative central mechanic - Calculated Risk (Thomas, Charlie)
- Best expression of theme - Calculated Risk (Thomas, Charlie)
- Best narrative / worldbuilding - Lightspeed Traffic Control (Matthew)
- Overall best game - Toil & Trouble (Josh, Sarah, Alice)
We had some absolutely fabulous games, and all of them will be available to try out at our BGs session from 4pm on Wednesday, so come give them a go!
Extra Bonus End Bit
Last week in the minigame, Feldspar was ingeniously hiding the board game Ingenious! So congrats to those who got that right. This week, the question for 'Feldspar Buttons Firebreath III's Funky Beloved Fun (the obnoxiously named minigame)' is in the form of another word scramble. What RPG has Feldspar jumbled up: let us know in the Discord!
