Welfare
Once again Hi, It’s me Fran, not only was I your co-op officer this past year I have also been your Welfare officer. My job is to be a friendly face in the society that people can come to if they have any welfare concerns. It is my job to signpost people to the correct resources to help them whether that is having someone to talk to or referring people to the SU or university wellbeing services.
ED&I
I'm Sam, our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Officer. The role of ED&I is to keep this society inclusive and open for everyone, so it's my job to make sure all of our events are as accessible as possible, and to fix any issues that may come up. As well as this, ED&I should keep an eye on society demographics from the SU and make sure they're all as they should be, and work with the Welfare Officer to fill section 7 of our society constitution - making sure nobody feels discriminated against, victimised or unwelcome in Tabletop for any reason.
Wargs rep
I’m Sam& (again), I’m also our Wargames/Wargs Rep. The role of the Wargs Rep is to set up, announce and run the weekly sessions on Mondays, as well as organising any other events, such as painting competitions, crusades, tournaments, and exploring other games. We also maintain the kit** and buy new stuff if needed.
Setting up the sessions is pretty simple, it involves a little bit of emailing DCS (don’t worry, they’re super nice!) just to make sure we get the rooms we need, and then taking the suitcases to said rooms on the day. Painting competitions and tournaments are also a good way to run some Wargaming fun on Tabletop weekends.
RPGs rep
Hello, Tis I, Alex, your RPGs rep. The RPGs rep job is relatively simple and split into 3 main parts (in my opinion). Firstly is helping facilitate RPGs being played by booking rooms for groups to use. Secondly is Intros to RPGs which are term 1 and 2 and helping round up some GMs for games and helping with anything they need. Thirdly is Big RPG, which is late Term 2 (get excited this year is gonna be good), and is rounding up volunteer GMs and organising everything, which is more in depth than Intros. There are also other events and collabs that may happen as well, such as RPG mixers.
Boardgames rep
Hello everyone, I'm Hugo, the outgoing Board Games Rep, here to tell you all about the work I do here. The main responsibility I have as Board Games Rep is running our weekly sessions on Wednesday, both in setting up the room and making sure everything is running smoothly. Additionally I work to manage the inventory, help to get games running, supervise game loans, and occasionally buy some new games (which I am currently looking into!). The Board Games Rep is also typically expected to help organise and run the Tabletop Weekends with the help of the other exec.

Last week in LARP
- Give us your money or your life or your life and your money or your money and your life or your life or your money or your money or your life or your on 3!: Banisher Constable Andromalius Blackthorn, alongside 'not a pirate' Alexios and Hunter Aerys went on a quest to free the ghost of a Pirate Captain, Andreas. They were sent to retrieve his old pistol from a smugglers cove. The party found and fought some bandits, who had a whole spiel. They didn't slay these bandits, and soon went on to find people arguing over whether a salted lake counted as a sea (for tax reasons, of course), some 'reeves' who were really more bandits, a surprising amount of imps, and many, many ghosts. In the smuggler's cove where the captains gun lay, they found a curious group of criminals. two humans, four less so. The four strange creatures seemed clever enough to work a ship, but spoke in an odd tongue. The party fought them for the gun, and would have been killed, were it not for the quick bargaining skills of Alexios (and sense of Andromalius as a Reeve to run away). Fish people are canon now. Don't worry about it. Alexios bought the gun off of the smugglers, and the party left quicky to return it to its ghostly owner. They did, venturing along the coastline and encountering seagulls, crabs, and people digging a really deep hole, until they encountered the captain again, standing by where his ship had wrecked many years ago. They gave him his gun, bringing him back to life, where he and his former crew, now all wet ghouls, attacked them. The party fought them off successfully, then dug through the remains of the ship that they could reach to get their pay.
Last week in Pokémon Regionals
- Some of our members and exec went to the Birmingham Pokémon Regionals and did very well! So I'd like to take a moment to congratulate our CCG reps: Edric who came 83rd! and Skye who came 300th out of 2000 players!!! And everyone else who went along!!!
Last week in Intros to RPGs

In Eat the Reich, we had around ten variations of the same joke that genuinely became more funny each time it came up. The game ended with a final showdown on top of Eiffel Tower against a Nazi werewolf that got killed in one turn by an East London necromancer-zombie. Then, Hitler got destroyed by an airdropped tank rolling on him. Oh, and time bomb with (+++elderly) was used to destroy an ancient demon. - Yevhen

DnD 5e Starting off my being airdropped onto a mountain and fighting a Yeti and Dragon, my players discovered the palace of Fafnir, the dwarf that turned himself into a Dragon. After finding the password to his vault and one character dying, the party all got ledgendary loot, including a two person mech. After one shotting the BBEG with 300 damage in only one person's turn, they accidentally summoned Tiamat by destroying her ring. They also managed to kill her. A level 5 party of 5. Also our Artificer needed a crit to kill Tiamat and got it on the last hit. - @Birdi on discord

In The Hunt Begins, the party went to a tavern with gambling elves, an endlessly arm wrestling goblin and kobold, and multiplying brooding rogues, to meet a messenger for a job from the Prince of Willbow, the job was to hunt a creature terrorising villages around Willbow. They met with Ronin, the messenger, who told them that they were to go through the Northern Forest to a city outside of Willbow to collect a quite illegal artifact. They went through the forest, with a number of encounters, before defending a Parish of the God of the Hunt from Destruction Cultists. They ended up on the other side of the forest in a village named Xyrnon, and met another Cultist of War. He gave them a key to the sealed temple of destruction, which would contain a sword to either destroy the creature, which turned out to be a War Avatar Boar, or help it find it's way home. They ventured through the dungeon and found the sword, then completed more puzzles to escape and the Boar, guided by the divine energy of the temple, ended up at Xyrnon. The party broke the sword, which contained Cataclie, the God of War and Destruction, who then guided his pet boar home, which erupted the volcano next to Xyrnon, and settled the cults. The party collected their stupid amount of money, Ludo gambled it all away, Cassie invested it in building a new village for the residents of Xyrnon, Marlow used it to buy his soul back from his patron, and Lark used it to join the Holy Sovereign Guard of Willbow, finally getting that promotion. All ended well in Willbow, but Civil War still rages in the East, in the country of Iovvos, still in disrepair from the collapse of the Iovvic Empire. - Lori (Assistant RPGs rep)

Razing the Earth, a Lancer story: A group of bumbling mech pilots woke up after a two year nap to invade a planet ran by a mega corporation. While in cryosleep, resident scientist Quinn grew an immensely biohazardous substance in their living quarters that could kill the whole crew. The crew barely passed a trial combat ran by the ships AI, who was mildly impressed, bankrupting the ships captain Jeebly in the process. They attempted to breach the planets atmosphere amidst a plethora of satellite lasers and a bunker buster that could one shot any of the crew. Got scared by a Bastion that was just standing there. - Hugo (boardgames rep)

For Your Paws Only, we had what can only be described as a fever dream: 4 pets got conscripted to a secret animal espionage organisation in order to infiltrate a James Bond-esque Villain hideout in a Volcano in Wisconsin. They succeeded in some training simulations, and got some gadgets including an orbital cannon targeting system. Upon entering the villain lair they kept Reginald Smoothly in his cage and rescued 50 secret agents. They eventually met the chairman and got him to go to therapy. When writing up the plot it turns out the main content was seemingly Wumbo the hairy elephant getting better and better at finding toilets until he eventually ascended to exploding people with his mind, Muffin the Golden Retriever converting those 50 agents to paganism, Snowy the barn owl becoming the god of sleuthing to this newly pagan agents, and Theodore the hedgehog learning to become hot and how that can help in going back in time and killing his colleagues. - Alex (RPGs rep)

In Jake's Dread Intro to RPGs game: this was the state of our Jenga tower just before it fell. Throughout the entire game, a single person died incredibly near the end. - Alfie (Tech officer)
