Last week in LARP
The assassination
The high mage guard of Fitzsabre Bryce teemed up with the pistoleer Alexios, the shadow mage Pietro and hunter Aerys to try and kill the archbaron Fitzsabre.
They began their journey a distance from where Bryce knew Fitzsabre would be holding court, they made a few preparations before setting out to try and do the deadly deed. On their way they encountered a toll bridge charging an extortionate rate. Despite the party making their way over the bridge through the use of a suggestion spell by Pietro Alexios murdered the collector (an ill advised move).
When they approached the castle where they new Fitzsabre would be a group of guards made their way to arrest the party for the aforementioned murder. The party resisted the arrest and killed all the guards, obliterating their bodies in full view of the castle walls. In a panic the party allowed Bryce to chain them up and decided to go with the story that Bryce had been under some powerful mind effect that wore off during the battle. They then had all of their weapons taken from them (except a pair of pistols Alexios had hidden on his person and a single dagger Aerys hid beneath his cloak) and were brought before Fitzsabre to face trial with Andromalius Blackthorn as the prosecution.
The first to be tried was Alexios for his many, many, many crimes and also being a werewolf. He was found guilty of about a dozen murderers and after admitting to being a werewolf and to the existence of Ulvier the brother of Lupermater under the effect of enlighten gross magical negligence. The trial then moved on to the accusations of conspiracy to commit murder against the archbaron Fitzsabre and the killing of the gate guards. The notable events that happened here was an exchange between Andromalius and Bryce where Andromalius repeatedly tried to enlighten Bryce and each time he used magic to circumvent it until eventually Bryce allowed the spell to go through. As well as Pietro using the fact that as a shadow mage he was effectively immune to enlighten to pin the whole conspiracy on Alexios and Bryce. This then lead to Andromalius to reduce the charges against Pietro and Aerys significantly.
In the end however, this did not matter as Bryce told his co-conspirators to run as he began to try and obliterate Andromalius. Bryce, accepting his inevitable demise, used deaths embrace to increase his chances of success; despite this he failed and was stuck down as oath then pulled his soul to the temple to which he had sworn it. Meanwhile, Alexios, Aerys and Pietro fled the castle with the and went their separate ways knowing that they would always be hunted. Alexios was then ambushed by Terne who held a knife to his neck and made it clear that he was as good as dead. With some quick thinking Alexios wounded the arm holding the dagger and fled for his life. A few days later he was tracked down and killed by a hunting party brought together by Andromalius with his body being kept so that his transformation could be publicly seen (a full moon has yet to occur).
These guys were absolutely swagged out at Kenilworth castle last week, have a sneak peak at some highlights (more on the LARP highlights channel!)
