Tabletopolis returns in a new Minecraft server!
A long long time ago (namely about half a year or so), in a galaxy far far away (namely Coventry), a few brave souls set out to find a new home. A home where everyone would feel welcome. A place of happiness and joy, where material needs were a thing of the past. There were trials and tribulations, and demonc rift-opening accidents of all flavours. But in the end, our brave explorers built a thriving civilization named... Tabletopolis.
But nothing lasts forever, as Tabletopolis now stands empty, a monument to the struggles we faced and the friendships forged in the fires of hardship. But though Tabletopolis is naught but a memory, its citizens live on - and with the song of the land on their lips, they set out to write a new story...
Some of you may remember that, at the beginning of the pandemic, our ex-LARP rep Jakub created a Minecraft server for us in the society to enjoy. We originally played the FTB: Revelation modpack, and the thriving city of Tabletopolis was born. That server is now lost to time, but we now have the Return of Tabletopolis, this time in Skyfactory 4!
If you're interesting in joining, you should hop into our Minecraft specific Discord server using the invite code F9y7Sak
(or by clicking this link). We only started up the server yesterday (Sunday) morning, so you won't be too far behind.
Please do note: this server is not officially run by Tabletop. We do, however, abide by the Tabletop Code of Conduct, and some Minecraft specific rules (displayed in-game).
Many thanks to Ash for the amazing photoshop of "Age of Tabletopolis II" <3
Magic: the Gathering Commander Boxing League
We're celebrating the release of the new Commander Legends set by holding our first ever boxing league!
Here's how it works, in some handy bullet points:
- You'll need to buy yourself a box of Commander Legends. The set releases this coming Friday, so you'll want to get any pre-orders in asap.
- You then build yourself a legal (normal rules and regs) Commander deck out of the contents of the box you've bought, and that box only.
- You'll be playing games against other people in the league, likely on CCG Thursdays (but you can always try and arrange games at other times, if enough people are free). There might be a scoring system. That is as of yet undecided.
- After 2 weeks, you may add 6 more packs from another set that is/has been standard legal. This is not mandatory if you don't want to buy more packs!
- Every subsequent 2 weeks you can add 6 more packs, same as above, up to a grand total of 24 packs.
You'll need to sign up to the event here to take part, and we'll begin the league once everyone has received their boxes and built decks (likely Thursday 26th at the earliest). It will likely continue over Christmas and maybe into term 2, who knows. This is just a little bit of fun for those who have made the (questionable?) decision of buying a box. Like me!

Also, happy Transgender Awareness Week! Transgender Awareness Week occurs every year between November 13th and 19th, and it is a week where transgender people and their allies take to action to bring attention to the transgender community by educating the public about who transgender people are, sharing stories and experiences, and advancing advocacy around the issues of prejudice, discrimination, and violence that affect the transgender community. To contribute to this, I am making a post every day this week in our external-announcements
channel on the Tabletop Discord server. Be sure to check 'em out to learn some stuff!
Remember, you can always find an up-to-date timetable of what's going on on our website's Schedule page, and you can see special events (including RPGs) and sign up to them via our Events page.
What happened last week?
In last week's newsletter, I promised you all some highlights from last Sunday's Monster Prom 2 session. Well, I don't like to disappoint, but when I asked Finnbar if they had anything to contribute, they just said "you don't want them, trust me" with a jaded look in their eyes. So, that's that on that.
We had our Mystery Booster sealed event on Saturday, with a grand total of two (2!) mana crypts opened (and I did not open either of them...). Congratulations to Lap and Ike, who took the top spots in their respective pods.
There was also even more impromptu Saturday night Jackbox, which resulted in the screenshot you can see to the right.
That's it from me this week - we'd love to see you join us for some online gaming if you have some free time.
Wash your hands, stay inside, and come play some games with us (online) <3
