TERM 2 WEEK 21 NEWSLETTER

Hello,
Look down, look down, there’s a newsletter below. Look down, look down, find out where to go.

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING (AGM)
Week 8, February 28th 17:00 to 19:00, OC0.04 Oculus Building
https://www.facebook.com/events/154511065251793/ https://www.warwicktabletop.co.uk/forum/thread/115/
There are less than two weeks left until the most important event of the year. Make sure and keep the 28th free from 17:00 to 19:00 as it’s vital that everyone get a chance to make their voices heard if we want our society to continue to get better and better. Many candidates have already posted statements to our forum page (linked above) so make sure to check them out and post one yourself in you are interested running for a role. This is also the place to post any motions you would like discussed and voted on at the AGM.

TABLETOP RUNS A MURDER MYSTERY
Week 8, March 2nd 6pm-10pm, S0.11 Social sciences building
Ahoy Mateys!
You have all been invited aboard the Jolly Roger to witness the wedding of an unlikely pair, heralding from the Ninja gang and Cowboy gang respectively.
I know that they say that there is no honour amongst thieves, and that we have had some bad history with each other. However, I believe that we can all put bad blood behind us.
Regards
Captain Jill
P.S please don’t bring weaponry
Are you one of the Ninjas? Those who use their skills to sneak into highly guarded vaults to make off with the treasures within. Or are you a cowboy? One who uses sharpshooting to raid their targets, with the speed of a charging bull.
Or are you one of the pirates, bonafide modern day boat thieves.
The wedding is dress down, although many members of the gangs enjoy styling themselves after their gang theme.
Let either James or Naomi know of which faction you belong to by Friday week 7 latest, and optionally any character traits, position/activities in your gang or relation to the happy couple. If you don’t want to be a suspect embroiled in a family full of murderers and criminals then you may turn up on the night as part of the catering.

WARGAMING
Monday 17:00 to 22:00, B2.01 Science Concourse
After last week’s X-Wing tournament there will be plenty of grudges to settle so make sure and arrange a game on our Facebook group to get your revenge. Although, after two Star Wars events I’m pretty sure a fair number of people will be eager to get back into one of our many other systems. If this seems like your sort of thing then don’t hesitate to pop in and get a game with one of our society armies.

MAGIC: THE GATHERING
Tuesday 18:00 to 22:00, B2.01 Science Concourse
We are well in to Rivals of Ixalan now with the main architypes established and a pretty concrete pick order confirmed. And with this complicity hitting draft why not take the opportunity to mix it up and draft that weird deck with cards people thought were unplayable and break the format, what’s the worst that could happen (probably lose the draft). As always 19:00 start with £8 buy in reduced by £2 per pack supplied yourself.

BOARDGAMES
Wednesday 14:00 to 22:00, B2.02 Science Concourse
If you happened to be at the Star Wars collaboration then you go probably got to enjoy the special Star Wars versions of Spyfall and Codenames. But don’t worry if you couldn’t make it (or you just want to play them some more) as they will be at this week’s boardgames event as well joining our massive collection that you know and love.

CASUAL CARD GAMES
Thursday 16:00 to 22:00, B2.04/5 Science Concourse
Fancy a game of Netrunner, Yu-Gi-Oh, or Commander? Then pop in to our relaxing Thursday night card games session where you will be treated to the finest games available in a soothing and atmospheric environment.

TABLETOP ROLEPLAYING GAMES
Saturday 12:00 to 22:00, Meeting in the Social Sciences Café
We had another one-shot this week (albeit a slightly less ridiculous one) in the Star Wars Galaxy. So, if this wetted your appetite then make sure to check out our events page for campaigns starting soon to get yourself signed up. If you are looking to GM your own game and are searching for players don’t hesitate in posting on the events page as well.

LIVE ACTION ROLEPLAYING
Sunday 12:00 to 18:00, OC1.01 Oculus Building
This week’s adventure saw the Legitimate Business People in Vernas fall victim to our party’s shenanigans as they attempted to drive up the price of lumber. This was accomplished by losing multiple carts of lumber in the woods which they had sworn to protect (poor honest lumber merchants). As always, if this sounds like fun then pop along at 12:00 on Sunday.

WEEKLY NEWS
Last week saw both of our Star Wars events take place, with the X-Wing tournament on Thursday being taken down by our very our very own LARP rep James Ellis. On Friday we hosted our collaboration event with Star Wars Society featuring even more games of X-Wing as well as a Pod Racing one shot RPG.
