‼️ Do you want to be an assistant exec?
If you are interested in helping out with either Wargames or CCGs in an official capacity as an assistant exec then please get in contact with the relevant incoming rep, Lap (for CCGs, TheRealLap#7110) or Liam (for wargames, Liam_0#9044). You should then keep an eye out for when the handover meeting is announced (that's the big, normally 2 hour, meeting in which we handover key info from the current outgoing exec to the spry new incomers) as you'll need to come along.

Come to the quiz this Friday in OC0.01 from 6-9pm! Entry pays for the prizes and is a mere £1.50 and we can sort you out with a team (of up to 4 people) on the night!
As always, I come bearing an offering to entice you to attend the quiz - a set of enigmatic teasers provided to me by the quiz round runners themselves!

- The AGM Bingo Completion Quiz Round - Finnbar is going to complete their AGM bingo, even if it means setting ten leading general knowledge questions about it. (Do not question the fact that this is after the AGM so shouldn't really count towards said bingo.)
- (Bonus Round) The History of Tabletop (according to me) - Finnbar, long time society member, is going to delve into the history of the society and ask some fun and totally fair questions about how it has changed over the last seven years.
I am truthfully so bemused and also so excited by these tasters - I can't wait to see what's in store on Friday!
🎲 Tabletop Weekend

Tabletop weekend is happening this Saturday and Sunday! Come and let off steam after an exhausting term by running nets, gaming wars, counting birbs, or any other game that the society has and plays!
The rooming situation is a little complicated as we are in H0.02&3 (in humanities) for the majority of Saturday, before migrating across to out natural habitat of B2.02 at 7pm on Saturday and thankfully staying there all of Sunday.
Remember that you can drop in at any point and play any sort of games you'd like - we'd love to see you there!

💭 What happened last week? 💭
Cato Sicarius, 2nd Company Captain of the Ultramarines and Commander Dante, Chapter Master of the Blood Angels face off while their escorts battle around them.
Dante fought first and killed Cato, who used a strategem to fight back before being removed and put Dante on 1 wound. The terminators then cleaned up the sanguinary guard and Dante.
Jon B let us know that an important mission to find a ruin and stop some cultists pulling off a dark ritual on pause while party finds a baby owlbear to pet.
Session 3 of Demigods!
In which:
- Ominous dreams are ominous
- Coffee is the root of all problems
- Several party members fall victim to identity fraud
- Ominous dreams are om-SHAAAAARK
- Property damage is the solution to problems caused by coffee.
Last week in LARP:
Some spirits are arseholes. Sometimes spirits force party members into mildly genocidal murder pacts. In these cases, one should seek out a qualified spiritualist who can "deal with" the spirit in question. This week the party made their way into the frozen north, encountering two false gods and one possibly real one on their quest to "negotiate" with a megalomaniacal frost spirit.
Extra Bonus End Bit
In celebration of the new exec (and definitely not in frustration with the concept of the Dark Saber as a means of determining succession), this week's role table details some fun and fresh ways of determining new leaders:
- The person who can guess what name a random newborn will pick for themselves in the future (i.e. some sort of reverse rumpelstiltskin type situation)
- Whoever can name the most ABBA songs without starting to sing any of them as they go through the list
- Whoever can win a 5-way duel where the weapon of choice is "sleep"
- The person who does the most unhinged freestyle rap to Mozart's "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star"
- The person who has said the word "desiccated" the most times in their life
- The person who has kept a houseplant alive longest (relative to their own life-span)
