💭 What happened last week? 💭
Last week in LARP:
The party headed up into the Voidscraper mountains as Lady Tieru prepared to test the limits of her magical theories. The party made their way through the vale in the shadow of the volcano, battling various fragments, conversing with reclusive mages, and holding off having their souls consumed by the Void as they reached the summit. After they dispatched the fire fragment threatening to detonate the volcano, Tieru made the choice to step into the colocale of the Void and Deeps, losing her physical form and gaining herefore unseen magical power.
Last week in BIG RPG:
Firstly I wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone who showed up to the Big RPG, we had a great turnout, and it went great! I also wanted to especially thank the GMs who ran tables, Alysha for doing all the promo, and Anna for running the shop and helping organise the event, without them there would’ve been no event, so thank you so much! - Ethan H (RPG Rep)
Last Orders at the Yawning Portal saw our groups of adventurers descend into the Undermountain, and into the bustling tavern of the Growling Groghouse. Riddles were solved, ale krakens battled, a feywild party got even feywilder, and some went bowling with an archmage. Three bar fights happened at once, and gravity changed multiple times. Clues were found, and a rousing song was sung to bring back Durnan. The Black Viper tried to intervene, but an insane Wish spell thwarted her plans. Durnan was free, but so was Skallindrax, a vicious dragon. Each party battled the fearsome foe, besting it once and for all, and gaining glory, money, and ale as a reward.
Fun highlights from the GMs:
- Level 3 had a barbarian rolling all ones on a triple-die hit!
- Level 5: earned the favour of a beholder, then immediately insulted its lack of perceptiveness, behaved obnoxiously enough while trying to be a distraction to get cut off from the bar after only one drink (the distraction part worked, but started a Bar Fight), tried to make the hag and the coronach fight each other. Only failed because the hag was too sloshed to stand & during the final fight, hit the dragon with three consecutive fireballs and a lightning bolt.
- Level 14: Luck checked because the barbarian chose such a generic name he lucked out and there was one on the list, live robot performance from the wizard, did 8 wild magic shots and started 2 bar fights through it, reversed gravity in order to steal a genie bottle which undid the black vipers win & wrestled an adult black dragon into the dirt that it failed to get out of for half the fight.
- Level 16 saw a Nat 20 Chat GPT poem, a barbarian get a 0 on a peformance check to dance and accidentally made Rizz Ditch a new wandering NPC after he travelled to tables to heal!
- Level 20: What do you get when you bring an Air Genasi Barbarian/Fighter (Gale), a Tortle Monk (Lom the Peaceful), and a biblically accurate Aasimar Paladin (Michael the Paladin) together? Chaos, gambling, and a whole lot of chicken. Lom the Peaceful, who had sworn a vow of poverty, gambled immediately after entering the tavern, and lost. Michael the Paladin told a joke. Gale started a chicken eating competition, and narrowly won. The party was invited to bowling with the archmage Halaster Blackcloak. Lom the Peaceful and Michael the Paladin did pretty well. Gale did not. Gale was crushed by the oversized bowling ball that he requested, threw multiple balls at a time, and scored a big 3 pins in 10 throws. The party attacks Halaster for 300 damage. Michael the Paladin was swallowed by a frog. Gale did over 100 damage in one hit. Lom the Peaceful slays the dragon with Quivering Palm.
- Wandering NPC Black Viper did 4 backwards rolls, some spin jumps, stole 3 clues just by walking past & got called spooky (a lot)
Last week in Kids on Bikes - Lumina falls:
The kids of Lumina Falls had a bit of a rough Friday last session.....
Ashley made the risky decision to tell mum that she had found and seen her twin brother Ashton who's been MIA for a few weeks (just kidding hes in a cave).
On the other side of town Rick & Casey Taylor tag team a meeting with their absent dad by attaching a tin of leaky paint to the underside of his car! This would be genius if Mr. Taylor hadn't been somewhat involved in a SWAT team being sent on Rick.... Unfortunately, for the SWAT team Rick's a bit too skilled at improvised fighting leading to a messy accident where a 25 fight check killed an agent.
Back in the cave Cassidy was investigating what truly happened in her childhood that led to her having a chip attached to her nervous system. Luckily, everyones favourite witches the McKins wanted the kids to investigate Luminate the shady tech business Cassidy's parents work at. After some sneaking the kids start to piece together what's really connecting Cassidy's chip to Luminate and why they want the diadem power....
Last week in Murderous Misfits:
With some help from Lila's old Assassins Guild who distracted the many other Koras hanging around the city the Misfits encountered their first proper boss battle!
Realising what was going on The Creator (Kora's Creator) began to unleash mech hell on the gang after Kora refused to let him have her back take her apart. In true misfits fashion they immediately began to struggle! Especially after Val managed to shove a mech into a healing zone! Nevertheless the fight continued as the room started crumbling around them but what's gonna hurt the gang first: the roof falling in or a disintegrate spell aimed right at Kora.....
Extra Bonus End Bit
Adventures of Strawberry Jam:
Everyone thank Anna & Georgie for this masterpiece they made with Jam at big RPG!
Bye!
