I would like to request that the fine members of Tabletop Soc look at the freaking weather forecast before leaving the house with no coat or umbrella and arriving drenched at boardgames. Please, for the low, low cost of just a moment of your time you too can be dry and warm and have a generally better experience playing games. This has been a PSA.

πΆπΊ A reminder that Eurovision exists
Our Eurovision Watch Party is happening this weekend!! Feel free to come along to B2.02 on Saturday from 7:30pm, as that will give you a chance to be settled and ready for the stream, which starts at 8pm.
Also a reminder to make yourself a 5x5 bingo card for all the wild stuff that you predict will come up during the event. Here is an example from from last year, courtesy of Finnbar.
π²π§ RPG x MtG Crossover
This is just a heads up for a very cool event coming up in a few weeks time! Are you a Magic: The Gathering player who has always wanted to get into RPGs but didn't quite know where to start? Or perhaps an RPGs player who isn't sure how one would go about gathering magic, but thinks they would like to learn? Then this is the opportunity for you!
This will be happening Week 9, Friday 24th June, so save the date and keep an eye out for announcements and events sign ups for when we have more details!
π§βπ« An Exec Meeting Happened
There was an Exec Meeting! My personal highlight was making a pun that caused Fern to discover their pun limit, but other stuff was covered too.
You can check out the minutes here. We mainly discussed upcoming events, such as the LARP Murder Mystery, the Megagame and Tabletop radio (segments and stretch goals). We also checked in about Welcome Week events and updating the slideshow that we have going at each of our weekly events. (Also, as a fun bonus here are the minutes to the Week 0 Exec Meeting).
Also a reminder to all to please use the QR code that will be out on tables or up on the slideshow to sign into any of our events, so that we can contact you in the case of a possible COVID exposure.

π What happened last week? π
My main note for understanding the image on the right sums to: big thing shoots smol thing (again) in wargs. I don't know what either model is called, so I guess the big one can be Debbie and the small one can be Mick.
Ben reported that they won a game of Uno by chaining three "skip-a-goes" to empty their hand and, quote, "I feel mean." Having little Uno experience myself, I am instead going to comment on the facts that I keep misreading this as "skip-a-goose," which I do think would make a very interesting game mechanic, and I too would feel mean leaving a goose out.
Night's Black Agents continue their quest to weaponise national monuments: The latest query being, "could we use the London Eye as a giant blender if we sped it up and strapped Big Ben's hands to it?" Thank you for this truly alarming mental image.
Extra Bonus End Bit
So you've sated your players' thirst and hunger, but it's with horror that you realise you have not sated their curiosity. They ask you what the tavern they're in(n) is called and inquire as to if anything fun or weird is going on around them. Roll a d6 to find out!
- The Hearse and Curse - This totally not ominous tavern gets its name from the hearse in the corner that has been repurposed into a magical Photo Booth. Is the price of a photo your soul? Maybe! Are they the best (and possibly only, depending on your game's location in both time and space) photos your party will ever take? Hell yeah!
- The Clean Goose - An impeccably-dressed goose sidles over to your party to check how the meal has been going. Their name tag says Ryan Gosling. In the corner is a notice board and the only sign pinned there is an image of a mucky-looking fowl with the wording, "Dirty Duck. Wanted: Dead or Alive."
- Alternate Dimension - You look around and realise you are in the world's most underwhelming rave. The lighting is comprised of an array of various lamps and fixtures, each of which is controlled by dimmer switches that are manually being changed by harried-looking staff, and the music is predominantly Bach but played on synths.
- Lost Your Marbles? - This tavern's attraction is an astonishing and incredibly complex marble run that spans the entire back wall. The flow of the marbles is so enchanting that there are rumours that some people who enter, never leave, destined to watch the mechanical marvel evermore. It's notably a hub for pickpockets, who will leave pouches of marbles in the place of your purse.
- C3.13 - It's a Board Games CafΓ©! The ambience is delightful, even if the place is a little chilly, and there's every board game you could possibly imagine. Skull is the game of the day and anyone who wins it gets a free tiny crystal skull which is enchanted to be capable of holding a single thought.
- The Hop and Scotch - Simple as it sounds. When you're in there, you're magically compelled to hop everywhere. The only drink they sell is Scotch and the only food is Scotch Eggs. Popular with local frogs.
Wash your hands, stay safe, and come play some games with us π
