It's coming up to that time of year again everyone where we spend two days streaming all manner of games and gaming-related content in order to raise money for a charity that you've picked.
This year we're excited to be raising money for SpecialEffect, a charity which supports phyically disabled people with innovative technology, including adapted video game setups. In order to raise as much as possible we're going to have donation incentives and stretch goals (which are both in the works at the moment) and most crucially we're going to have lots of fun on stream and we want you to all get involved.
So far we have several ideas for segments that we're already working on, including playing Jackbox, running an RPG, Dead Air (a cool RPG/podcast), Make Some Noise, and The Unbelievable Truth (see below for more on those last two). In previous years we've had Bob Ross art segments, TableTED Talks, Tabletopoly, and so much more. All you need to be involved is a free hour or two, an internet connection, and a laptop/computer.

✨ 📻 Call for participants for 2 different Tabletop Radio segments! 📻✨
🔎 The Unbelievable Truth 🔎
Do you like talking for 5 minutes about something silly that interests you? Do you like lying? Do you like sniffing out when other people are lying? Then do I have the Tabletop Radio segment for you!
I'm looking for 3 people to be contestants on a likely very nerdy version of "The Unbelievable Truth" (a radio four comedy panel show, listen to an example here). You basically get to write a 5 minute speech about pretty much anything (examples from the show are barcodes, left-handedness, Lord Byron, and The Internet) sneaking in 5 lies which the other contestants will try and identify in order to win points!
This will form part of our fundraising stream this summer and will take about 1 hour of your time on discord on either Saturday 19th or Sunday 20th of August (we're still nailing down an exact schedule).
🔊 Make Some Noise 🔊
Do you like improv and being silly with friends? Do you like making noises? Do you like the sound of being asked to make noises rather than being asked to please stop making them? Then this Tabletop Radio segment is for you!
I'm looking for 2 people (out of three total) to be contestants on our version of "Make Some Noise" (a Dropout game show, watch an example here). Contestants will be given a range of wild prompts (such as a donkey, dinosaur speaks its first english, and Batman doing Cameo) and asked to act them out/imitate them. Some of the prompts will be individual, some in pairs, and some as a trio.
This will form part of our fundraising stream this summer and will take about 1 hour of your time on discord on either Saturday 19th or Sunday 20th of August (we're still nailing down an exact schedule).

Socsfest!
We're at Socsfest on Thursday the 22nd of June from 11am-6pm! Come join us to play some board games (big jenga!) or have a chit chat!
Tabletop Quiz!
This Friday is our term 3 Tabletop Quiz! Join us from 7-10pm in OC0.01 on Friday the 23rd of June! There is a £1.50 entry fee per person!
Tabletop Extravaganza!
Join us from 10am-10pm on Sunday the 25th to Tuesday the 27th to play some games or just have some fun! This event will take place in B2.02, B2.04/5!
LARP at Kenilworth Castle!
To round off this academic year LARP invites you all to join them to LARP in Kenilworth castle!!
This event will run on Sunday the 25th of June during Tabletop Extravaganza in week 9 at the normal LARP time of 12pm! To join everyone will be meeting in B2.02 then getting the bus over! Or if it's easier you're more than welcome to meet there!

💭 What happened last week? 💭
Last week at Wargames:
The forces of Chaos overran the Imperial super-heavy Shadowsword tank in it's entrenched position, precipitating a huge melee ontop of the superweapon! Pictured is a traitor captain, leading the charge up onto the tank.
Last week in “little hope” a la twin peaks
- What happens when you mix a cult newcomer, a paranormal radio show host & a bland man with a baseball bat..... Lotta craxy driving apparently!
- Why's there a random photographer around town? Is he here for the weird bears too?
- Magic peanut butter shows us all of our answers!
- "Listen to this banger! ... silence"
- Jen our supernatural radio show host doesn't believe in bears? How does she believe in ghosts but not bears!
- Damn big bears (that definitely isn't a werewolf) have a strong bite!
Megagame 2023: Hoist the Colours
This years megagame has officially been and gone! As part of the news team I can confirm it was a very chaotic event! The mini's looked incredible! Big thank you to control for running the game! Here is a brief summary of the shenanigans that went down!
- The Iron Fleet got off to a strong start & very quickly became the biggest threat!
- Until the Royal Navy stepped in ... major losses were suffered as the Navy's power was underestimated.
- Early on the pirate council declared themsleves "officially incompetent". In a not so shocking twist this statement occurred a lot!
- Everyone agrees the Navy sucks!
- The Pirate council decided they didn't like the news reporting their meetings & banished them out the room!
- The mysterious middle island was briefly a place of peace!
- News decided they wanted payback for accusations about them spreading misinfomation! They became pirates & put a bounty on the Disciples of Ag'reg'soa!
- Forever war was announced! But not for long as a peace treaty calling for everyone to fight the Navy instead of eachother was declared!
- Everyone begins fighting the Navy and the sea monsters! Until the Storm Speakers and Iron Fleet break the peace agreement and the pirate code!
- The news are allowed back into the pirate council! Just in time for everyone to discuss the Elder Nautiloid which is looking for a tasty island shaped snack!
- Little did everyone know the news had been granted some spells & was theiving!!
- Focus shifts to battling the Elder Nautiloid! Spells are used! Everyone was yelling in fear & excitement!
- In the end four teams came together to slay the Elder Nautiloid! Peace restored!
Extra Bonus End Bit
Strawb is giving Barbie a run for her money with how many jobs he has!

He's doing his best but Art might not be the hobby for him!
