💜Thinking of joining the exec?
In week 7 we're gonna be hosting our AGM!
For any newbies who haven't experienced this delightful event it's our annual meeting to vote in new exec for the next year! Sorry to say some of us graduate this year (big sad) so to let everyone know what exec roles you can run for every week they'll be some descriptions of exec roles!
Anyone who's got a membership to the society can run in the AGM!
This week introducing.....
LARP rep:
Happy evening everyone, it's your friendly neighbourhood Matthew here to tell you all about being LARP rep. As LARP rep, your main responsibility is to do silly voices run the weekly LARP session. This entails helping to teach new players how to LARP and explaining the rules, organising the monsters and plot for each session, and keeping track of downtimes between sessions. You also have control over the the ongoing narrative, and are in charge of any updates to the rules or setting. It's a lot like being a GM, but LARP.
There's also extra LARP events, like murder mysteries, that you'll be responsible for running. If this role sounds overwhelming, don't worry. The other exec, the experienced LARPers, and of course the Quartermaster are all people you can ask for help and advice. Speaking of the Quartermaster, LARP really wouldn't be able to function without them so I should probably hand over to James to tell you about that role...
Quartermaster:
Hey, quartermaster James here, have you ever wanted responsibility of a large number of swords, guns and other assorted weapons? Have plans on how to construct the infamous LARP cannon to siege the SU? Then this might be the role for you!
The primary thing you'll be doing as LARP Quartermaster is maintaining the equipment - this includes spraying weapons with lube, repainting parts of old weapons, and washing the clothes. You also get the satisfaction of organising the cupboard, a fun mathematical problem of how to most efficiently use the space available!
The other part of the role is acting as an assistant to the LARP rep in running the session each week, helping to organise events such as the murder mystery and occasionally running the adventure if they are absent.
Being Quartermaster is a rewarding way to help out without needing to know much about the running of the society or SU regulations and serves as a great introduction to being exec.

💭 What happened last week? 💭
Last week in LARP:
In accordance with the ancient rules and proceedings of the Congregation, the party was sent to locate three different weirdos important bishops of Skoi. This quest took them to the loud and belligerent marketplaces of the free towns, the mushroom-infested depths of the Deeps, and finally to the court of Archbaron Winter, where their presence may have caused some potential issues.
Last week in Murderous Misfits:
The gang solved a murder mystery! In a tragic turn of events an engagement party became an en-rage-ment party as the bride to be (and surrounding loved ones) discovered her father, Detective Clemence, hadn't left any money to them in his will. Chaos ensued, arguments, gunshots, magic & necromancy all came to light. Turns out the detective's business partner (and secret ghost writer of his novel series), Dr. Girk used heat metal through a secret hole in the wall to heat an old fragment from war within him killing him. In the process Zander's sister Rosie (the bride to be) accidentally died after being forced to say she committed the murder, luckily she was able to be brought back ..... as a human, bit of a downgrade from a half-elf!
In the end Zander recieved allllll of the money in the will & Val gained the rights to the Detectives books!
Rose got trapped! In a little jar! Shes now safe in transported!
Extra Bonus End Bit
Adventures of Strawberry Jam:
Jam, like me, has been too busy with uni work to come up with anything more original! Enjoy!
