As the battle finishes, you slowly creep out of the cover, cautiously readying yourself for another blast in your direction. None comes. You step your way out of the battlefield, over numerous fallen soldiers of both sides, towards your home. Your village has suffered from the battle. Everyone appears to have safely evacuated and all are accounted for but the buildings have taken extensive damage and are clearly no longer safe to live in. It is clear that your home village of Catan will have to be knocked down and resettled.

AGM2020 - Board Games and Wargames Reps
Our society's AGM is coming up later this term and continuing on our weekly introduction to elected positions, this week we have some words on the Board Games and Wargames reps:
Board Games Rep - The Board games Rep is responsible for running the society’s weekly board games session by organising our collection and tables in the booked room. They are there to make new members feel welcome and help them find a game and group to play with. They are also in charge of managing our extensive collection of board games, including decisions on new purchases. Should you have any questions about this role, speak to Josh, who can be found at our events, Board Games in particular.
Wargames Rep - The society Wargames Rep (post currently held by Jon Cheah) is responsible for running the weekly Wargames event and other special events that fall under the Wargames umbrella. This can include large Warhammer Apocalypse Games, whole day tournaments, or terrain making days. The Wargames Rep is in charge of managing the society terrain, mats, and crafting supplies, and will bring the necessary equipment to events. They work with the treasurer to budget and plan for additions to the collection. Should you have any questions about this role, speak to Jon, who can be found at our events, Wargames in particular, and on the society Discord (@Nahjo_Che).

What happened last week?
Last week was the unofficial (some may tell you it was completely unimportant) world championships of Love Letter, involving myself and 9 OTHER PLAYERS. The game lasted about 9 rounds...? It was agonisingly long, with many players begging for a winner by round 6. Gentleman's rules of not revealing information publicly were thrown out the window but eventually, and rather painfully for myself to admit, after a 4 way tie on 3 points, myself being at that stage earliest, Nathan won, much to EVERYONE'S delight.
That's it for this week, hope to see you all at board games weekend!
Much Love,
