Yet another newsletter written within the limited space of a train. This time I learnt from my mistakes last week so at least I have a laptop now. Anyways, on with the news!

AGM2020 - Web Admin and Comms
Continuing with the introduction of roles for the upcoming AGM (don’t forget it, Wednesday 26th, 6-8pm), this week is my turn and that of our web admin Thomas:
Communications Officer - The comms officer role is doing this every week, as well as other advertising for society events through the Discord server and Facebook page. The newsletter is currently pretty simple to produce in this simplistic format each week and Facebook/Discord are very self-explanatory. I've began some work on adapting the newsletter that will likely need continuing into next year, based on the results of the survey. Thus this year's comms officer may need to more closely cooperate with the secretary and web admin to continue tweaking this. Any questions contact me on Discord @Techgecko#1641.
Web Admin - The Web Admin in this society has two main responsibilities: first, you are responsible for the management and moderation of the society discord. Secondly, you are responsible for the development, deployment and maintenance of the Society Website. This is currently written in Python using the Django framework, so any familiarity you may have with either of those, though not vital, is a significant bonus. If you want to take a look at the codebase, you see its current state over at our GitHub (you can even help by submitting pull requests now, if you are feeling eager). If you have any questions, please feel free to message me on discord (@thebruce#4808), the website (TB) or my email (t.bruce@).
Enjoyable Games for Healthy Brains!
On Friday 21st Feb 3:30-7pm, in P5.64, a collaboration event with PGSSLC will be held. This will involve board games, food and drink for your enjoyment and wellbeing. If you're interested in attending please complete this poll to gauge interest.

What Happened Last Week?
There was an X-wing tournament on Saturday of last week, which I now have the results for. Congratulations to James Ellis for being undefeated and coming first in the X-Wing tournament! Everyone had a great day with many great moments. Some highlights include, Finnbar’s ace pilot taking advantage of Jon’s tractor beam to swivel around and shoot back, Alex dropping a proximity mine onto half a squadron of vultures, and a general all round love for our totally unambiguous proxies. You may also remember that D&D of epic proportions was taking place this weekend. I'll hopefully have more on that next week as it's currently happening as I types these words, sadly the lack of time travel makes getting the details on this quite difficult at the moment.
Here's a quote from the X-Wing tournament: "This ship may look like a tie fighter, but it's actually a very large vulture droid" -Joe
That's it for this week, until next time!
