AGM2020 (THIS WEEK!) - Graphic Designer
Continuing with the introduction of roles for the upcoming AGM (don’t forget it, this Wednesday, 6-8pm) due to be in the same room as board games, this week is the final role in the society, the graphics design. Graphic Designer - As graphic design maestro, you're the person responsible for creating the visuals of the society. This includes both digital and physical media - as such, you'll need some experience in making artwork for print, and getting it printed. I've created a massive breadth of design work over my tenure, including but not limited to: business cards, our stand-banner, flyers, posters (including many one-off creations for our big yearly events), banners for social media, this year's newsletter header........ It can be quite a time-consuming (and sadly not paid) job; already knowing your way around your graphic design program of choice and having the appropriate equipment will give you a big advantage going in. If you want to learn more, please contact the current rep, Ares (@/dovahbutt#7544 on Discord, e.osborn@warwick.ac.uk).

What happened (technically slightly longer than) last week?
As mentioned last week, I know have some details of the murder mystery. To summarise, here is a witness report form Chaotic Tim: "The evening started off just like any other evening, if that evening consisted of a funeral with the strange tradition of locking the whole family in with the body for the next 24 hours to grieve in private. The priest, one of the 4 heads of the family began his sermon with the ceremonial drinking of the wine, symbolising the blood of the family being passed on through the departed's lineage. This wine was poisoned! He keeled over after drinking it and collapsed onto the ground, sweating and shivering, leaving his body with no choice but to give in to the overwhelming poison coursing through his system, minutes left to live. Elise jumped in and provided some medicinal herbs from her druidic background for Thomas - the alchemistic character - to rapidly concoct an antidote. The evening had been interrupted, though. If a murderer was in the room, then who's to say anyone was safe? Besides, with 24 hours left on the clock, they couldn't leave. Now would be a perfect time to catch them before they can to run away..." "Conversations started and accusations were thrown, two more murders were carried out and the stabilised priest was poisoned once more. Money was lost, arms were hidden and friends were found, and by the end of it, despite only one of the four original family heads being alive and only one of the murderers being captured, I daresay the family were strengthened by the experience."
This past Friday we had our collaboration event with the Physics postgrads: wellbeing board games! Many games were played, many biscuits and much pizza was consumed, and everyone had a chill, enjoyable Friday evening (even Ares, who was recovering from food poisoning and a 2 hour meeting with their PhD supervisor). It's incredibly important to look after both your mental and physical wellbeing while at uni, and relaxing over some board game fun with friends is a great way to do this (if it's your cup of tea of course). Thank you to everyone who came!
At CCGs we’ve seen a fantastic increase in other formats being played such as Pioneer and Modern. Thanks to Thomas James for his noble crusade and doubling our number of Pioneer players in only two weeks. Whether you’re running with scissors or vialing in a cat Jesus in response to a fetch, CCGs is the place to be to try out your decks for any format.
That's it for this week. Once again, a final reminder for the AGM. Come to the AGM, we actually really need you there, PLEASE COME TO THE AGM.
Until next time!
