The end of term is in sight, and we have a couple of big events to send it off.

🧠 The Quiz (THIS FRIDAY)
⚠ WE WILL BE USING A NEW QUIZ SERVER (i.e. not one we've used before) - MAKE SURE TO JOIN THIS NEW SERVER IF YOU WANT TO QUIZ! ⚠
It's the return of our Termly Quiz! Battle it out over 6 rounds of sometimes bizarre, sometimes Tabletop-themed questions to win the coveted Quiz Crown*. I now have a more up-to-date teaser for the rounds-to-come:
- All Alchemical Absurdity and Aromatic Additives (James);
- The Society Does Not Condone Piracy (Jamie);
- Quotes (Benji);
- This Round's a bit Dicey (Thomas);
- TBC (Anakin);
- Board Game Geek Board Game List Board Game Board Game Game Guru Game (Sol);
- and a ✨ bonus round ✨ Asmodee or Asmodon't (Alex).
There's no need to sign up in advance, and teams will be organised in the Quiz server (we have a
#find-a-team channel for anyone turning up alone). There is no entry cost (and sadly, no prizes) - however, you can always make an optional donation to the society, which will go towards buying games and other equipment for when we can finally meet in person again!
* No physical crown included.
🎲 Tabletop Weekend (THIS WEEKEND)
Saturday 13th/Sunday 14th March, midday-midnight both days, via our Discord and whatever tabletop gaming platforms you want to use (e.g. tabletop simulator)
Our end-of-term Tabletop Weekend is THIS WEEKEND - keep your calendars clear if you wish to join us for 24 whole hours (or however long you want to come along for) of Tabletop fun from the comfort of your own computer chair. Board Games, Wargames, CCGs, RPGs, Jackbox... Whatever you want to play, this is the big weekend to play it!
We encourage you to organise any big games, tournaments, and/or RPG one-shots you want to host or play in advance (so that you can get together enough players) - please create an event on our website's Events page and post about it in the relevant Discord channel and/or the relevant Facebook group!
Talking about organising games, there will be some late night Among Us during Tabletop Weekend - you can learn more and sign up via this website event!
❔ What's happening this week? ❔
- Monday 5-10pm: Online Wargames
- Tuesday 6-10pm: Online Draft - Modern Masters - free! (as it's online) - you must sign up here to take part
- Wednesday 5-10pm: Online Board Games
- Thursday 5-10pm: Online CCGs

website-notifications, that alerts you to events when they're posted on the website!
💭 What happened last week? 💭
Thank you so, so much to everyone who participated in the AGM last week. While it may have lasted an hour longer than planned (when doesn't it, to be honest), we managed to get through every order of business: we had a Presidential recap of what went on during the last year, a budget update from our Treasurer, mascot elections happened, we successfully had someone stand for every exec role, and all the motions were debated and have been put to vote.
🗳 Reminder: you can still vote (on both exec candidates and motions)! 🗳 The voting period lasts 7 days from the close of the AGM, so you have until this Wednesday, 10pm to cast your votes. After that, results will be announced on Thursday, but they will remain provisional for a further period of 7 days (during which any complaints can be raised).
The one thing we do have final results for is the mascot election! The Tabletop mascot for the next year is The Gender Cube (congratulations to Hannah for putting in the winning nomination)! May The Gender Cube lead the society to prosperity.
As if the AGM wasn't enough excitement for one week, the Netrunner Okorina Tournament took place on Saturday. You can see the results in the image to the right - Congratulations to Finnbar for winning the swiss (best of 3) part of the tournament (bottom table), and to Artock for taking the win in the actual end of the tournament (the top 4 cut, see the upper table of the screenshot) 🎉 Plus, a huge thank you to Jamie for organising/running this tournament - you're a star! ⭐
Also, continuing the Netrunner News segment: Netrunner has a beginner-friendly set being released at the end of the month, so the Netrunner players are thinking of running a beginner-friendly tournament using said set! If you've been looking to get into a CCG that's free and fun, or have otherwise been like "ooh Netrunner that sounds cool", we'll have the perfect opportunity for you to try out the game soon.
Finally, this coming week hosts our last few big events this term - make sure to come on down to the Quiz and/or Tabletop Weekend to finish off this term on a high!
Wash your hands, stay inside, and come play some games with us (online) 💛
P.S. keep your calendar free on Saturday 10th April - this is the provisional date for our upcoming Big RPG event (using D&D 5e, set in Icewind Dale). More info to come soon!
